37 Welcome to the U.S.Army Garrison Grafenwoehr. Lake “Rußweiher” The outdoor facilities of the Rußwei- her lake which were built in 2007 and recreated in 2011 with a special fun area for the young children offers fun and relaxation for all sun worshippers and bathers. It is the only bathing lake in the region with the opportunity to explore Rußweiher lake with a paddle- boat. Refreshments will be served by the kiosk. Family and children Many playgrounds can be found in Eschenbach. Additionally, the local kindergarten offers 4 childcare groups for children between 3 and 6 years and two groups for the youngest aged 1–3, that are also used by our American families. Netzaberg/Partnership In 2006 the laying of the foundation stone for Netzaberg, a new part of the town, took place. The name belongs to a group of houses that was mentioned in a document of 1844. On an area of 60 hectares 830 houses were built for the families of our American friends, which shall be a “temporary home” during their deployment in Grafenwöhr and Vilseck. Due to a fully developed bikeway all Netzaberg inhabitants can reach Eschenbach easily by foot or bike. The city of Eschenbach enjoys a great and very intensive partnership with the soldiers and families of at Grafenwoehr stationed 1st Squadron, 91st Cavalry Regiment. Warmly welcome to Eschenbach.
